OVERVIEW     /     CREDENTIALS     /     EXPERIENCE

Byron started his practice to provide positive legal resources for individuals and families wanting to protect their loved ones.  His experience in complex tax planning and litigation makes him a unique member of the estate planning community.  Indeed, he is better equipped to resolve the numerous tax issues that are often embedded in estate planning and probate matters (including gift, estate, generation-skipping transfer, income, and property taxes).  His litigation background also ingrains in him to identify, plan for, and mitigate potential issues early, in order to avoid costly misunderstandings and/or litigation down the line.  Byron is trusted by and represents other attorneys and members of the legal community.

Prior to starting his own firm, Byron was an attorney at the San Francisco office of an international tax law firm.  He represented high net-worth individuals and private businesses in all facets of tax and estate planning and litigation, including gift and estate tax matters.  His case load habitually involved complex and cutting edge matters with high monetary stakes.

Byron was also a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Judges, Mary E. Wiss and Lillian K. Sing at the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco, Probate Division, where he gained invaluable insights on how probate matters are evaluated and decided by the Judges.  He advised the Judges on matters including probate administration, trust litigation, conservatorship, and guardianship.  He researched and drafted bench memoranda, statement of decision, and various orders.  Moreover, he facilitated ex-parte hearings on probate matters.

Byron has practiced before the United States District Court, Court of Federal Claims, United States Tax Court, and various Federal and State level administrative agencies.

Byron has been named as Super Lawyer in the field of Estate Planning and Probate.

Byron enjoys traveling, photography, and rooting for his beloved Bay Area sports teams.  He lives in San Francisco with his wife and two daughters.  Byron also speaks Mandarin, Chinese.
